Gang Sheet Builder (Software Guide)

What is a gang sheet?

A gang sheet is a single sheet containing multiple designs arranged together for printing at the same time.

Instead of uploading and printing each design separately, you can combine—or “gang”—multiple designs onto one sheet. This helps you use the available space efficiently and print different designs, sizes, or quantities together.

Artwork requirements

Our online DTF Gangsheet Builder supports a wide range of artwork file types.

Accepted file formats: PNG, PDF, SVG, JPG, PSD, AI, and EPS

Artwork resolution

Once your artwork is uploaded, our software evaluates the image resolution using colour-coded quality indicators. It will also alert you if any designs on the gang sheet are overlapping.

For the best print quality, artwork should be created at 300 DPI at the actual size you want it printed.

Background removal

If your artwork has a background you do not want printed, our AI-powered background removal tool can help remove it automatically.

Depending on the image, the tool may appear as an option when you upload your artwork. It is especially helpful for customers who are not familiar with professional image-editing software.

Results may vary depending on the image quality, contrast, fine details, and complexity of the background. Always review your artwork carefully before adding it to your gang sheet.

AI upscaling

If you are working with a low-resolution image, our AI upscaling tool may help improve its resolution and print quality.

After uploading your image, select it and click the Upscale button. The software will create a higher-resolution version for you to review.

Upscaling can improve some images, but it cannot fully restore missing detail from a poor-quality original. Always review the upscaled artwork carefully before adding it to your gang sheet.

Halftone remover

DTF printing works best with solid, fully opaque colours and does not reproduce traditional halftones reliably.

Low-resolution images, AI-generated designs, and upscaled artwork may contain partially transparent pixels or halftone patterns around edges and fine details. These can cause unwanted outlines, rough edges, inconsistent colours, or poor adhesion when printed.

Use the Halftone Remover tool to help identify and remove these pixels before printing. Review the finished image carefully, as results may vary depending on the artwork.

Halftone and anti-aliasing example

Anti-aliasing and white halos

Anti-aliasing is used by graphics programs to smooth the edges of an image so they appear less jagged. In some files, this can create a thin white or semi-transparent halo around the design.

Use the Halftone Remover tool to help reduce this issue by adjusting the angle and increasing the density. Always review the edges of your artwork carefully before printing.

Crop images

Use the Crop tool to adjust the shape and dimensions of your image. You can change the aspect ratio, resize the artwork, or crop it into a circle.

Change colours

Use the image editor to select a colour and replace it with another colour or remove it entirely.

Results may vary depending on the file type, image quality, gradients, shading, and the number of similar colours within the artwork.

Background colour visual aid

If your design is difficult to see against a transparent background, open Settings and use the visual aid feature to change the background colour of the gang sheet.

You can also change the background colour while editing individual images to create more contrast and make fine details easier to review.

Please note: Background colours selected using the visual aid feature are for viewing purposes only and will not be printed.

Image sizing

You can resize an image directly on the gang sheet by selecting and adjusting it. For more precise sizing, use the image editor to enter the exact dimensions required.

Always confirm the displayed width and height before completing your gang sheet, as the image will be printed at the size shown.

If you have multiple designs and would like help optimizing the gang sheet layout, use the Auto Build option. Upload your images, set the quantity required for each design, and click Apply.

If the requested images do not fit on the selected gang sheet size, the tool will automatically adjust the layout to fit everything onto the sheet.

Mock-up tool

Want to see how your design may look on a garment before ordering? Use the FitCheck tool to create a visual mock-up.

You can preview your design on different garments, change the garment colour, and download the mock-up image for reference.

Please note that mock-ups are for visual purposes only and may not represent the exact scale, placement, or printed colour of the final transfer.
